Dr Tanushree (Tanu) Rao is an experienced (Obstetrician &) Gynaecologist providing care in Sydney’s Southwest. Tanushree is skilled in advanced laparoscopic surgery and experienced in all areas of Gynaecology.
Dr Rao studied Medicine at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India and went on to be granted the prestigious MRCOG at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. Following this she completed her Fellowship of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Sydney. She then underwent an additional two years of advanced laparoscopy training after receiving a fellowship, which was recognized by the esteemed AGES committee in Australia.
Throughout her experience, Tanu has developed an interest in minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic procedures, her primary objective is to ensure that every woman feels heard and that no woman is denied minimally invasive surgery if it is necessary and feasible.
Tanushree is passionate about women’s health and prides herself on her energetic and warm nature. The whole team at Medgyne have a genuine sense of empathy and kindness towards the patients and are extremely approachable.
Dr Rao frequently uses the shared decision-making approach with women to help them determine the best approach and treatment plan. The goal is for each woman to feel heard and to have complete autonomy over the decision-making process.
