Southern Highlands Private Hospital History

Alpha Healthcare Limited built Southern Highlands Private Hospital and opened the facility on the 9th of April 1996.  In August 2001, Ramsay Health Care acquired all Alpha Health Care facilities.  Under the ownership of Ramsay Health Care, the facility has gone from strength to strength and has established its status as the leading provider of health care in the Southern Highlands community and beyond to other regional and rural areas.

With the increasing growth in the population of the Southern Highlands, the proximity of the M5 and M7 freeways to Sydney and the 30% rebate scheme for privately insured patients, occupancy and services have increased over the years to continually meet the needs and demands of the growing community.

In April 2008, Southern Highlands Private Hospital acquired the Bowral Day Surgery.  This purchase extended the services provided by the facility to include Open Access Gastroenterology and day Oncology.
