Southern Highlands Private Hospital Tops Hospital List

Mar 01, 2015

Southern Highlands own Private Hospital has been rated as the most recommended private hospital in the nation in a recent survey of patients.
Patients also rated the medical team at Southern Highlands very highly putting it in the top 10 highest scoring medical teams in an overnight facility.

The results come from a recent survey by health fund HCF, which polled 12,000 members in a wide-ranging survey gauging how likely they would be to recommend the hospital to a friend or colleague as well as the likelihood of their recommending the medical team who performed their procedure.

Southern Highlands received 9.5 points out of 10 in terms of how likely they would be to recommend the hospital to a friend or colleague.  This topped the list of hospitals and was higher than the average score for all 100 hospitals surveyed of 8.7.

Southern Highlands chief executive Jenny Harper was delighted by the result.

“It’s a great achievement for a regional hospital to top the list of 100 hospitals surveyed,” she said.

“It is just reward for our staff, who all strive so hard to meet the needs and expectations of our patients. The hospital is well integrated into the community and people talk of ‘their’ private hospital.

“Long term staff retention, education, and an emphasis on respect and safety for both staff and patients has ensured consistency in care and service and this was obviously reflected in the survey response this year.”

HCF Medical Director Dr Andrew Cottril said the process of benchmarking encourages hospitals to perform better and respond to customer feedback, allowing greater transparency in the delivery of health services.
