COVID-19 update from Southern Highlands Private Hospital
14 December 2021
The hospital was notified on 11 December that an individual who was on site at Southern Highlands Private on 10 December had tested positive to COVID-19.
As a result of this case, in consultation with the public health unit and our national Clinical Governance Unit, we urgently undertook contact tracing of all close and casual contact in the hospital. All contacts have now been identified and 12 staff, two patients and a contractor are in isolation. These individuals have undergone COVID testing, all returning negative results.
There are no patients currently within the hospital who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. We have a comprehensive pandemic management plan in place which includes rigorous measures to protect our patients and health care workers. Deep cleaning has been completed and increased cleaning of frequently touched surfaces will continue.
The hospital will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. We thank you for your support during this time.
