Pre Admission

Your booking will be made through your doctor’s surgery. For a smooth admission process, we ask that you attend to the following matters prior to your admission:

Pre Admission Information

Our Business Office is open from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday, and it is preferable that you attend in person to complete or deliver the necessary paper work. If you are unable to do so, please telephone our Admissions Coordinator with your details on (02) 4862 9400. This contact you have with the Admissions Office will confirm your details, including date and proposed time of your admission.

Private Health Insurance

Please contact your Private Health Fund to confirm your level of cover and whether you have an excess or co-payment on your policy. In the event that you do have an excess or co-payment, your excess is payable at the time of your admission, and co-payment(s) are payable at discharge.

What to Bring

  • Letters from your doctor
  • Medicare Card
  • Health Fund membership book or card
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs card, any Pension Entitlement card, any Pharmaceutical Entitlement card
  • Relevant existing X-rays and CT scans
  • All medications you are currently taking (including tablets, vitamins, mixtures, creams, inhalers or drops in their original containers). Please bring a list from your General Practitioner of your current medications, their strengths and dosages.
  • Sleepwear, dressing gown for overnight stay and slippers or comfortable shoes.
  • Glasses, hearing aids and non-electronic walking aids.
  • Toiletries, including soap, toothpaste and toothbrush.

You will be provided with a security locker for medications and small personal items. However, we recommend that you do not bring large amounts of cash or any jewellery items with you. A few dollars is recommended for incidental items such as newspapers from Reception.

The Hospital cannot accept responsibility for your valuables.

Mobile phones should not be used in the Wards as their signals can interfere with electronic medical equipment.
